The Ireland Monument Project is a non-profit undertaking.

All contributions go directly to complete The Ireland Monument-Canada.

We thank all who have contributed to date.

The Ireland Monument Committee now looks forward to securing a suitable site for The Ireland Monument-Canada within the City of Coquitlam, British Columbia.

We hope all supporting corporations, organizations, small businesses; families and individuals within Canada and Ireland will come on board to ensure that recognition of the contribution of Irish Canadians can be realized via The Ireland Monument-Canada.

The total project cost is estimated at $225,000.00 (January 2010). The committee is endeavouring to raise a portion of that amount (approximately $40,000.00) from individual, family and small corporations. It is intended to provide all contributors with a memento to recognize their contribution.

The following amounts are kindly suggested. A corresponding Momento will be provided to Donors for the following categories.

  • Between $3000.00 - $10,000.00
  • Between $1000.00 - $ 2999.00
  • Between $500.00 -      $999.00
  • Amounts above $100.00 -250.00
  • Amounts up to and including $100.00.

All amounts will be cordially accepted and recognized.

Options for making a contribution to help build The Ireland Monument-Canada are as follows:

1.         Forward your cheque made payable to “The Ireland Monument-Canada” and mail to The Ireland Monument Canada, c/o 2342 East 27th Avenue Vancouver B.C. V5N 2X2.
Cheques will be deposited to The Ireland Monument-Canada Account at Investors Group office Coquitlam until the project can proceed on site.

2.         At any Investors Group Office in Canada. Make your cheque payable to “The Ireland Monument–Canada“. Ensure your contribution is directed to the attention of Mr. Tim Gendreu, Division Director at Investors Group, 2963, Glen Drive Coquitlam B.C.

1.       For everyone’s information :

1.       All money deposited to the project is on deposit at Investors Group Financial Services at the City of Coquitlam Branch Office at Suite 305, 2963 Glen Drive, Coquitlam B.C. V3B 2P72.       The funds will remain on deposit until the project is ready to proceed. 3.       The Embassy of Ireland and the Ministry of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages in Ottawa will be issued copies of all account statement from Investors Group Financial Services for the project if funding applications are successful. 4.       Brendan Flynn and Al McCabe of the committee are the only persons authorized to withdraw money from the account. Both signatures are required. 5.       No funds will be withdrawn from the account until the project is ready to proceed on site.

6.       Should the Ireland Canada Monument project be cancelled, ALL FUNDS donated by individuals and organizations WILL BE RETURNED to the respective donors less the cost of processing a refund cheque and mailing. The committee believes this to be a fair resolution for all.


 

§         As of May 1st 2010, the committee is officially launching the fundraising campaign for the Ireland Canada Monument. The invitation extends to all individuals, organizations and corporations within Canada and Ireland to contribute to the Ireland Canada Monument. The individuals and their families named on Side 3 are excluded.

§         The committee is reviewing several options to provide recognition for all Donors to the project. Details to follow. An allowance has been made in the project budget for this item.

§         All donations will be welcomed and recognized on the Monument website at http://www.irelandmonumentvancouver.com/contributing-supporters/

§         We hope everyone will consider a contribution to this very historic project. Full or partial funding from grant applications to The Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin or the Ministry of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages in Ottawa is NOT guaranteed and should not be considered as such.
